The policy of allowing ‘transgender’ females and even males identifying as women to compete with women has been going on for some time now. While it is easy to understand the pressure organisers will be under not to appear ‘transphobic’, they have a duty to protect the interests of female athletes, many of whom have laboured their whole lives chasing a dream, only to have it cruelly snatched from them.
Some argue that Meghan may be suffering from mental health issues, which might explain a distortion of reality which she refers to as ‘my truth.’ Whatever their emotional state, the privacy-loving couple certainly seem to have been hit hard by the financial hardship caused by the loss of their royal titles, and may be seeking to create headlines for themselves. Frankly, I wish the pair would fade into obscurity – or at the very least, allow the rest of us our privacy from them.

Call me a cynic, but is this mere coincidence, or is the Coronation being used as an experiment in the use of facial recognition technology, and potentially yet another erosion of our basic right to anonymity? We have no guarantee that such technology will not remain in place after the ceremony and, of course, if a would-be terrorist is caught, or if the day passes without incident, this will undoubtedly be claimed as a success for the surveillance; I confess, I have misgivings.
