Sleeping With the Enemy

“Look what you made me do!” So often goes the stereotypical line of the domestic abuser after being ‘forced’ to grant his wife her umpteenth black eye for failing to come to heel. I can’t help but reflect on that sick form of manipulation when observing the fallout from the Israel-Hamas war. Much like the battered wife, Israel is being blamed for its refusal to accept the massacre of over 1,000 civilians as part-and-parcel of domestic bliss.

While clearly important news, the conflict would not be utterly dominating the Western headlines were it not for an unpalatable but undeniable truth: Hamas, and more specifically Jew-hatred, is now here to stay. Thanks to the decade-long suicidal immigration policies of globalist politicians, the multicultural nirvana has come to fruition, and the Hamas chickens have come home to roost.

This weekend’s ‘pro-Palestinian’ demonstrations across London, in which tens of thousands of people congregated, were played out simultaneously in the United States, Canada, Australia, and across Europe. While Ukrainians immediately took up arms against Putin and went home, the Palestinians seem content to show their solidarity at a safe distance from Gaza. And if you suspected that the rallies were expressions of hardcore antisemitism rather than support for Palestine being voiced, you wouldn’t find yourself alone.

The police made a total of 15 arrests, which might appear a tadge on the low side. Demonstrators were sporting para glider stickers on their backs, clearly in support of Hamas atrocities. Israelis were told to “remember where the Jews were in 1940.” One man carrying an Israeli flag was sportingly chased down by a mob, and threatened with beheading, before police acquiesced to intervene:

Public support for the Jewish community has not been exactly overwhelming either. Here for instance, is a charming young lady saying “Ahh, are your people dead?”

In other sections of the media, there was rejoicing over the Hamas slaughter.

According to the Jewish charity Community Security Trust, the number of antisemitic hate incidents has trebled since the attacks. Students at London Jewish schools are now routinely being advised not to wear uniform with logos on, in case they are targeted. With the possible exception of white men, no other group would be subject to such open hostility in Britain, without an almighty clampdown from the authorities. Even the French managed to snuff the protests out with tear gas and water cannons. What on earth is going on here?
First of all, there’s the obvious pragmatics of the situation. The Jewish community in the UK stands at about 0.5% of the population, with Muslims at 6.7%. It’s not merely a numbers game, the authorities are well aware it’s much easier to police peaceful Jews who’ve had their noses rubbed in it than the more volatile Muslim sects.

Then, there’s the politics. Keen to throw off the accusations of antisemitism which dogged Jeremy Corbyn, Keir Starmer has been clear to emphatically stand behind Israel. This does not of course mean that Labour does not desire the Muslim vote. Take shadow foreign secretary, David Lammy, for example. “Labour stands with the people of Israel,” he said initially, before toddling off to the annual Labour Friends of Palestine event in Liverpool.

Perhaps most importantly, much like the abused wife scenario, it has always been the convenient conclusion for many that the Jews simply deserve it. If they get attacked, it’s their own fault; if they retaliate, they’re perpetuating war crimes. It’s hardly news either. Twenty years ago, the European Union commissioned a poll asking Europeans what they considered the biggest threat to world peace. The answer was resounding. It was not Iran, not North Korea. Instead, 59% thought it was Israel.

Much like its 13-year embargo on illegal immigration, the Conservative government has done its best to talk tough over recent weeks; but this is a bluff you can only play so many times. Prime Minister Sunak blasted the BBC for refusing to call Hamas terrorists. Home Secretary Braverman meanwhile, was equally unequivocal: “I expect the police to use the full force of the law against displays of support for Hamas, other proscribed terrorist groups or attempts to intimidate British Jews.”

And yet, for all the glorification and intimidation on display, the police have done next to nothing. Having said that, in their steadfast desire to criminalise name calling, they did manage to arrest a 67-year-old man with a Union Jack, on the grounds that he said something ‘racist’; so that’s alright then.
Here’s the real problem for the authorities: whether through incompetence or planning, they are now faced with the undeniable fruits of mass immigration from Muslim countries— Jew hatred is among them. Much more than that, thanks to their refusal to deal with the problem, other avenues of resolution are not available. The prisons are completely full; 12% of prisoners are foreign criminals. Justice secretary, Alex Chalk, has had to promise to spare foreign criminals prison due to overcrowding. The plan is to deport them, but of course, we can see how well that’s going with the small boats crisis. The reality is that not only are the police refusing to get involved, the government can’t lock them up and won’t deport them. Everyone knows it, especially the criminals themselves.

The worst part is that we are hardly in new territory. “Forget the Jews, placate the Muslims” has been Britain’s unofficial modus operandi for a long time. Ten years ago, when Jeremy Corbyn appeared to be filmed at a rally in front of the Hamas flag nothing happened. In 2018, the Hezbollah flag was flying proudly at the Al Quds day march in London; again, nothing. Two years ago, London played host to a Convoy for Palestine, where several vehicles drove around the capital in broad daylight, screaming “Fuck the Jews! Fuck their mothers, rape their daughters.” Although the police made arrests, they failed to charge the perpetrators on the contemptible pretext that a conviction was unlikely. An utter disgrace.

The authorities simply have no stomach to deal with this monster, entirely of their own creation. And if the Labour Party do accede to power, God help the British Jewish population, because no one in Westminster will. What we are seeing now, is what many of us have been warning about for the past quarter of a century: foolish liberal governments have welcomed hostile populations into our midst, without explanation or consent. Now, the full horror is on display as they hide in plain sight.

Our beds have been made for us. It looks like we’ll be sleeping with the enemy for the foreseeable future.

Do Sunak-Starmer & Sons recognise that the Muslim hatred of Jews shown on British streets might very well come to be shown there for the British themselves, and, if it hasn’t already been, very likely will be, if British governments persist in taking the side of the Jews against the Palestinians? Is it not time for us to cut our losses and run? After all, the police cannot be expected to arrest 150,000 people a day. And is there not a saying popular in the Middle East that it is better to be an enemy of the British than a friend because, if you are are an enemy they will buy you but if a friend sell you? It’s time for a fire sale.
