A recent book, In My Daddy’s Belly, which teaches children that men can get pregnant has just been published. The author, Logan Brown, has authored this book to share his experience as a transgender man, claiming that ‘it is important for his daughter to read his story.’ Brown was featured on the June Pride digital edition of Glamour UK’s front page and told them he is ‘living proof of a pregnant transgender man.’ Yes indeed, ‘living proof’, but only that a biological woman—which is what Logan Brown is—can become pregnant. This is evidence, as if any were needed, that you can claim any gender you like but that does not change biology. Whether Logan Brown identifies as a man, a man cannot get pregnant – even Wikipedia knows that.
The cover of In My Daddy’s Belly pictures two males looking at each other, whilst one of them is clutching what could easily be mistaken for a beer belly. The slogan at the bottom of the cover says, ‘The Story of a Transgender Dad Giving Birth.’ According to the publisher Bigger Picture Books:
‘The book is based on the heart-warming story about two dads eagerly waiting for the birth of their first child and the parent giving birth just happens to be one of the dads. Written in a way that is accessible to children of all ages and easy to understand, it gives some basic facts about Transgender Dads giving birth…the one message it sends is: it does not matter what your family looks like, as long as you are safe and loved.’
This is not heart-warming, it is disturbing. It completely misses the point that, if one of the ‘men’ is pregnant then he is a mother, not a father. A triangle cannot have four sides; the Earth is not flat and 2+2 does not equal 5, regardless of what anyone claims. This book has arguably been written with the intention of indoctrinating children and lying to them.
With a meagre rating of just 2.4/5 on Goodreads and a substantial price of just £15, inevitably, it is not living up to the expectations of the public: one reader wrote: ‘What a disgusting, lying, demented book aimed at children.’; and another commented: ‘This is SICKENING. There is NO reason that this should be okay for a child to read. Men do NOT have babies, that is a FACT.’ I think they have saved me the horror of turning over the first page; I’ll pass.
This is just one of many recent similar issues that children are being bombarded with. In April, teaching unions demanded to change how biological sex is taught so that it is easier for children to talk about trans issues; in French they are being taught about gender neutral terms; in May, a children’s TV show introduced a non-binary character and focused episodes on inclusivity; a Stonewall book, Grandad’s Pride, is aimed at children and celebrates the LGBT+ community; and Costa Coffee, popular with younger people, used a picture of a trans man with scars near his nipples, thereby pushing body mutilation on girls. Now in the United States the Target chain of shops is selling a ‘pride Santa’ and an LGBTQ+ nutcracker. We can probably expect to see these here in Asda soon, as they are owned by the same group.
Whatever happened to fun cartoons like Horrid Henry and Peppa Pig (until she too went woke); books by Roald Dahl and old fairy tales where children got eaten and wolves dressed as grandmothers (but were not making a trans statement)?. But back to In My Daddy’s Belly. Logan Brown thinks it is important that his daughter reads his story. Maybe so, but it will also then be her story and whether or not she is happy to be part of the narrative remains to be seen.

Still waiting for proof that “gender” exists separate to biological sex.
It is an imaginary state, to be of a “gender” that is not your sex. What other imaginary states do we recognise in law? What other imaginary states does the NHS see as allowing them to mutilate children, make them sterile and deny them the exquisite pleasure of an orgasm?
Unfortunately, the word “gender” was another word hijacked by that particular demographic. Gender was always used as the alternative for “sex” when I was breeding/showing dogs. It was the “polite” way of asking what sex the puppies were.
