Let us suppose that the BBC News broadcast findings of reports making extreme claims. What would the response be to such claims? Would they result in campaign groups lobbying No 10 and constituency MPs with demands for immediate action no matter how absurd? Would we accept the ‘authority’ of the bodies making the claims as enough? Or would we seek the evidence for such extreme claims in the light of experience and available knowledge?
In the book Climate, All is Well, All Will be Well, it is shown that the politically driven claims of climate hysterics are self-evidently untrue. The laws of physics disprove the man-made global warming hypothesis. Yet, the warmist dogma has captured the commanding heights and is justified almost solely by reliance on arguments from authority, with scant regard for actual evidence.
If “authority” is itself the sole authority, then how can we not fall victim to propaganda so that only the very brave or the old – who might not be vilified – will dare to challenge it? Is not history full of evidence of suffocation of enquiry and dissent in the name of the received dogma of the time?
We are told that we must abandon fuels that emit CO2 and submit to a catastrophic reversal of prosperity and security by depriving humanity of the energy source that has brought about the greatest transformation of its welfare. Is it not our duty to demand evidence for the imperative and immediate need for such denial of the hopes and aspirations of mankind?
The dogma of ‘global warming’ was conceived as the means of socialist reversal of the global economic order. It was adopted 45 years ago by an extreme group at Stanford University USA led by Stephen Schneider[i]. He declared that
“In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill.
He knew that CO2 could not cause this[ii]. Yet he cynically demonised it, recognising that fossil fuels were the basis of the growth and prosperity of capitalist economies. If CO2 could be condemned as the cause of catastrophe the economic sub structure of the west could be dismantled.
“To capture the public imagination we have to…..make little mention of any doubts one might have. Each of us has to strike the right balance between being effective and being honest[iii]”
‘Climate Change’ dogma took hold through gross distortions of science for political ends. It was largely the work of one Maurice Strong, an extreme socialist who owed his great wealth to the oil industry. He had close business and financial links with China where he lived for years; regarding it as an ideal society. He held senior posts in the United Nations. He founded the UN Environment Programme and initiated the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change to promote the dogma of dangerous global warming due to human CO2 emissions.
The entire base and fabric of the IPCC dangerous warming dogma rests upon the colossal falsehood that rising atmospheric CO2 has created a trap for heat from the Earth’s surface which is accumulating to such an extent as to threaten humanity’s very existence.
Such claim is without foundation in physics and chemistry. Doubling CO2 will have no noticeable effect on temperature. For 545m out of the past 550m years CO2 density was 5 -10 times higher than today. It has never caused global warming.
CO2 forms 0.0417% of the air. Water vapour (75%) and CO2 (20%) slow the escape to space of the 6% of Sun’s energy radiated by Earth so keeping average temperature at 150C. CO2 has no other link with temperature. There is no ‘trap’. CO2 is saturated with Earth’s surface radiation and cannot absorb more heat. CO2 H2O and sunlight provide the energy of plants and the oxygen we breathe. Rising CO2 creates vast regions of crops in drought lands with steep increases in yields and values. CO2 does not pollute.
Temperature has risen 1.10C since Earth emerged from the Little Ice Age 200 years ago. It has not risen for 24 years. Since 1980 over the 43 years of satellite records it has risen just 0.34%. Temperature is governed by the Sun’s activity, by its effects on oceanic shifts and by Earth’s orbits. Not by CO2.
There is no climate crisis.
JEREMY NIEBOER is a former barrister who was admitted as a solicitor becoming a partner in two City law firms. He specialised in corporate work including mergers and acquisitions, capital market public offerings, private equity transactions and commercial law.
He published his first booklet on climate alarmism with the Bruges Group in 2010 A Lesson in Democracy. His book Climate, All is Well All will be Well was published in October 2021 and became 1st Best Seller on Amazon books in the Climate Change and Ecology category. It was described by William Happer Professor Emeritus of Physics Princeton University USA as “excellent” and by Michel Van Biezen Professor of Physics at Loyola Mount University USA as “impressive”.
