The Crime of Truth

Truth is now a crime.

Little illustrates this more than a verdict passed in Verden Regional Court, Northern Germany, earlier this week. Marie Therese Kaiser, a budding young politician, was found guilty of using government statistics to point to a problem that officialdom would rather not talk about. As the Taliban took down the Pride flag from Kabul Town Hall in the summer of 2021, a large number of Afghans made their way to Europe, including Germany. Many thousands were housed in small towns across the land.

The elegant Miss Kaiser, feeling the vibe in her beloved neighbourhood change to become more diverse, more unexpected, and in some ways, less boring, felt a discussion on the topic was needed. Standing as she did for the general election, she asked her political counterpart a question on the topic: “Afghanistan refugees; Hamburg SPD (Socialist Party of Germany) mayor in favour of ‘unbureaucratic’ reception; welcome culture for gang rape victims?” By “unbureaucratic” Miss Kaiser meant “uncontrolled” and proceeded to use official government data to make her case. As it happens, the numbers are available to all.

In short, the German population is currently 84 million strong, 69 million of whom are “natives”. The foreign population is 15 million, with over 5 million children of immigrant ancestry. Four hundred thousand are Afghans. In 2022, for the “rape, sexual assault and sexual assault in a particularly serious case, including with fatal consequences” category, we find that Germans were responsible for just over 6000 cases; non-Germans for below 4000; and Afghans for 358.

The numbers make interesting reading.

Afghan men commit ten times (1000%) more very serious sexual offences than their German counterparts. Non-Germans as a whole are responsible for over 245% more such crimes than locals. It is worth mentioning that only 0.0001% of Afghans have committed such horrendous offences. The vast majority are not implicated. However, the data overall shows that over a third of all crimes in Germany are committed by what Germans used to call “Gastarbeiter” – guest workers. Indeed, around two million transgressions are recorded each year.  Three quarters of a million are perpetrated by just 15% of the population.

In the “Straftaten insgesamt” (total offences) category, we see a similarly unbalanced pattern. Foreign born and Afghans respectively break the law 265% and 630% more than their comparatively strait-laced German neighbours. Looking at the data carefully, we see Syrians, Iraqis, Poles, Serbians, and Romanians among others vying for top spot in the total crimes committed category.

Surprisingly, perhaps, the forty thousand Japanese living in Germany feature at the very bottom of the crime charts, being responsible for a mere 152 offences for the year.

For her troubles, Marie Therese Kaiser, that unfortunate politician, was fined EUR 6000. Her crime was pointing at facts. But as Heiko Halbfas, the local judge, said: “it was irrelevant for the assessment whether or not incitement to hatred posts referred to actual facts”. He upheld the verdict. According to the court, she is guilty of inciting hatred. He added that her comments were an attack on “human dignity”.

Of course, data can be interpreted in many ways. What is undeniable though is that the German Home Office numbers point to a real cost of immigration to society – not just benefit. Culture, religion, language among many other things play a fundamental role in the way people see themselves. What is morally right in Germany and in much of Europe is alien in Afghanistan, Somalia, and Algeria. So much is self-evident to most, apart from those in positions of leadership it would seem.

They give the impression of wishing humans to be automatons, who can be reprogrammed at their whim. They appear to believe that a man only needs to cross a border for him to change his deeply held world views. And if these clash with indigenous morals, it is the locals who are to blame for not being enthusiastic enough about a decidedly non-reversible experiment.

Our leaders, then, tend to overlook the “collateral damage” the imposition of their multi-cultural nirvana predictably produces. Multi-culturalism implies the inevitable Balkanisation of a hitherto broadly united national and cultural space. That is where “different rules for different cultures” leads to. And for our rulers, any price is seemingly worth paying to get there.

When Merkel made the call in 2015 to lift the borders to all and sundry, the repercussions were immediate. In early 2016, a thousand men attacked German women on their way back from their New Year’s celebrations. As the BBC reported at the time, “the scale of the attacks on women at the city’s central railway station has shocked Germany”, quoting city police chief Wolfgang Albers calling the incident “a completely new dimension of crime”.

“The men were of Arab or North African appearance”, he added.

Beyond these observations, the Western World is becoming too expensive for its ageing population, who have decided to reproduce no longer – seeing in every new-born a catastrophic carbon footprint and an unbearable constraint on fun. To keep the creaking machinery of state functioning, and the debt to GDP ratio on an even keel, as well as maintaining a stable currency with which to pay our monstrous liabilities, our macro-economists sincerely believe that unrestricted immigration is the only short to medium term solution – for what they call “growth”.

“In the longer term”, as John Maynard Keynes said, “we are all dead”.

For the rest, the facts on the ground, as Judge Halbfas said, are irrelevant, as he condemned Maria Theresa Kaiser to a fine and an unforgettable humiliation, adding, without any discernible irony, “anyone who attacks human dignity cannot invoke freedom of expression”.

Be ready for more of that in your neighbourhood anytime soon.

  1. Bizarre and of course troubling.
I don’t understand the finer points of German law but would this mean that if a newspaper were to report the outcome of a rape trial for instance and published the fact that (typical immigrant name here) had been found guilty and sentenced to N years in jail, they could also be accused of the same offence as Ms Kaiser?
Presumably if the name was more “German” that wouldn’t be an issue?
